Blessed to Be a Blessing (1 Peter 3:9-17)

In 1 Peter 3:9–17, Peter calls Christians to respond to evil and reviling in a radically countercultural way: not by returning evil for evil, but by blessing. Because our hope and honor are secure in Christ, we do not need to fight for the world’s approval or repay those who oppose us. Instead, we can bless because we are called to bless, because our inheritance is secure, because the Lord sees and hears us, because we honor Christ as holy, and because our lives can open the door for gospel proclamation. At the cross, Jesus took our curse and gave us his blessing—and now, because Jesus has blessed us, we can bless others.
