Armed for the Fight (1 Peter 4:1-6)

What does it actually mean to be "through with sin"? In this message from 1 Peter 4:1-6, we explore how Peter refuses to let us fall into either error about the gospel—cheap grace on one side, works-righteousness on the other. Using the picture of a crippled soul waiting beside healing waters, we look at how Christ's suffering for righteousness gives us a new "way of thinking," a weapon to fight the sin that so easily entangles us. We'll talk honestly about the suffering that comes both from sin and from resisting it, why the world often responds to righteousness with ridicule, and why fixing our minds on the cross—not sheer willpower—is the true cure for sin's grip on our lives.
